Through the Telcha project company we designed and built a 21 KM district heating network in the city of Aosta, powered by a cogeneration plant that produces 46,000 MWh of thermal energy per year. To date there are 230 connected users.

The system was integrated with an 18 MWt heat pump, one of the largest and best performing in Italy. Combined with cogeneration - with a 7 MWe gas engine - the plant allows energy to be recovered at low temperatures, thus allowing to consume less primary energy and consequently reduce polluting emissions into the atmosphere.

Benefits of district heating

  • Avoid about 5,600 tons of CO2 emissions each year, equivalent to 4,610 fewer cars in circulation.
  • Reduction from 10% to 30% on annual energy bills.
