ENGIE Italia, one of the leading players in the energy sector, has purchased the "Lembisi" plant in the municipality of Ramacca (CT), with a capacity of 2 MWp and an annual production of 3,000 MWh.
"The main pillars of our strategy in the medium term include the strong desire to increase our "green power " considerably above all in the solar energy sector – declares Olivier Jacquier, CEO of ENGIE Italia – The purchase of Lembisi is in line with our objectives to contribute increasingly to the decarbonization and sustainable development of Italy and is consistent with our mission: to be the leader of the energy transition".
Alongside the Lembisi plant, which enters ENGIE Italia’s portfolio, is the existing "Santa Chiara" plant (with a capacity of 2.47 MWp), also situated in the province of Catania, both in grid parity.
With this latest purchase, in Italy, ENGIE reaches an overall renewable power generation capacity of 172.8 MW: 157.5 from wind power and 15.3 from photovoltaic power.
