An agreement was signed* for the acquisition of Renvico's Italian business from Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA) managed by Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 4.
The agreement includes the acquisition of 8 wind farms in central / southern Italy with a capacity of 142 MW.
This acquisition contributes concretely to the growth ambition of the ENGIE Group to add 9 GW of new production capacity from renewable sources worldwide, of which 3 GW in Europe by 2021.
«This important operation confirms how ENGIE Italia is continuing to invest in the generation of decarbonised energy.
Already today, ENGIE supplies 100 million green electricity to one million families in Italy and the acquisition of this new portfolio allows us to anticipate the growing needs of a private and public market, which requires ever more energy that is strictly environmentally conscious.
And it is only the beginning of the development of a pipeline in which ENGIE Italia is committed to further renewable energy projects for 300 MW, with the objective of reaching 1 GW of green production in Italy shortly».
Olivier Jacquier, CEO ENGIE Italia
